Ladies day in aid of Inverclyde Women’s Aid

So Sunday 20th of August found me with camera at the Italian club on Union Street  for a lovely benefit held for Inverclyde Women’s Aid.  Joyce Demelas from Phenomenal Success hosted the event along with a few of her forever living franchisees.  Joyce had asked if I would donate a prize for the fundraising raffle which I was only too happy to do for this deserving cause.  I decided to donate a ‘Beautiful You for Two’ champagne makeover day and £100 voucher to spend on prints or wall art. Joyce was so enamoured with this prize package worth £300 that she instantly upped the raffle amount from £1 to £5 a strip! This was great news for the Womens’ Aid and the day managed to raise £525 in total from ticket sales and raffle sales.

So what happened during the ladies day?

Well, there was some fizz of the prosecco variety to kick the event off and then a lovely meal which had us all happy to start listening to the speakers. First up was Francesca who showed off her lovely wearable clothes from Captain Tortue. The leather jacket was definitely my favourite piece from the collection. The clothes  were beautifully paired with jewellery by Valerie Lawrence who runs Stella and Dot in Bridge of Weir.

Next up were the ladies from Inverclyde Women’s Aid. Its shocking to think that we still need a service like this in the 21st century.  There wasn’t a murmur in the room while they did their talk.

After the seriousness it was time to lighten the mood a bit with a talk from Ann Summers and a tasting session from the Forever Living girls. I think Aloe Vera is an acquired taste! However I’m told it is wonderful for you.

Then came the raffle – oh my, what a load of fabulous gifts donated. All sorts of pamper packages and makeup vouchers and lovely bottles of wine. Lots of happy  faces especially with gifts from local girl Crystal Skyes  and the Edinburgh Woolen Mill (always a favourite) and our lovely local Mary Kay representative (and part time classroom assistant) Susan Mackechnie.

A quick interlude for everybody to stretch their legs and have a wander round the stalls.

After the raffle – my lovely friend- and force of nature Marion Morrison asked us how authentic we are being to ourselves.  Marion Morrison is an Inspirational Speaker, and Expert Coach in parenting and empowerment. Marion works alongside people to help them with transformation in personal situations and in growing their businesses. Her goal in life is to help people see their value and be bold in becoming who they want to be. She believes we are all strong forces and we all have potential for ultimate greatness. Nothing is impossible!

All too soon the  day was over but not before a group photo in the garden.

Thank you Joyce for the amazing effort in creating this event. It was a lovely day and I’m sure Inverclyde women’s aid is very grateful
